How we work

Our approach is all about getting to know you, what’s important to you and building the strategies that make it as easy as possible for you to achieve your financial aims and your lifestyle goals.

We like to really get to know our clients which is why be put relationship-building at the heart of what we do. We treat people as we would want to be treated ourselves, promising to listen, respond, guide and plan in your best interests.

Here is what you can expect at each stage of your journey with us:

Getting to know you

Our approach is geared entirely around the things that are important to you. So, we start by finding out what those things are. What do you want to achieve? What’s your dream? And what worries do you have about your ability to achieve those ambitions?

Then we’ll get an idea of your current financial picture. We’ll ask you about your income, assets and liabilities and any policies, mortgages or plans you have in place currently. We’ll also take some time to assess your appetite for, and tolerance to, risk if we’re working with you on your investments.

We also know, however, that you’ll be just as eager to get to know us as we are to get to know you. It’s vital you feel comfortable with us and confident we’re able to help you in the specific ways you want. So feel free to ask us lots of questions! This stage of the process is always at our expense. We won’t apply any pressure on you to make a decision but if you want to proceed with us, we’ll explain what we plan to do going forward, our fees for that work, and when they will become payable.

In the background – analysis and research

Once we have a full picture of your current finances, we can start to explore how close you are to achieving your goals – whether that’s buying your dream home, planning for retirement, or investing for the future.

If we are finding a mortgage for you, we will help you find a mortgage that is affordable, and ensure that you’re paying no more interest or fees than you need to.

If we are helping you with your financial planning, we will undertake cash flow forecasting with the help of some sophisticated software, and analyse the results. We will then “crunch the numbers” and research the “best fit” strategies and solutions that allow you to achieve your goals in your ideal timeframe and in line with your attitude to risk.

Presenting you with our recommendations

We’ll then meet and talk you through the findings of our research and analysis. We’ll present our recommendations along with illustrations to show various “what if” scenarios and the ways different decisions could affect your desired outcome.

You’ll have plenty of time to ask questions and come to a decision on what you’d like to do next. There’s no hurry, but if you choose to accept our recommendations, we can begin implementing them on your behalf right away.

Ongoing financial planning

We believe you will have the greatest chance of getting where you want to go when we establish an ongoing relationship with you.

Taking the journey with you allows us to check in with you on a regular basis and keep track of any changes to your life and update your plan. Most of our clients enjoy knowing we are always there, ready to help with any immediate questions or concerns they may have about their finances, whether that’s to do with changes to tax legislation and how it will affect them, or a change in family circumstances.

As part of this ongoing relationship, we also book in annual planning meetings which are an opportunity to formally assess the progress you are making towards your agreed goals, view your investment valuations and discuss any possible changes we need to make to ensure you remain on track to achieve your goals.
